Course Syllabus
CMA exams are conducted as two parts with 12 Competencies.
15% External Financial Reporting Decisions
The section includes the basics of accounting like financial statements, understanding the elements of financial statements, revenue recognition, etc.
It contains Balance sheets, Income statements, Statement of changes in equity, Statement of cash flows, Recognition, measurement, valuation, disclosure, Valuation of assets, Valuation of liabilities, Accounting for income taxes and leases, & Expenses and revenue recognition etc.
20% Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting
This section assesses a candidate's ability to combine accounting concepts with practical financial skills.This is where you will demonstrate the high-level strategy skills of Certified Management Accountants.
20% Performance Management
This section covers three main areas: Flexible budgets, Transfer pricing methods, Balanced scorecard, Standard costing, and Variance analysis. It brings together many principles that enable good people management practice, including learning and development, performance measurement, and organizational development
15% Cost Management
This section covers accounting and operational aspects of business, such as: costing, overhead, and supply chain. Life cycle costing, Target costing, Kaizen costing, Value analysis and value engineering, Throughput costing, Business process re-engineering, Lean accounting, & Socio economic costing, etc. topics are included in this section.
15% Internal Controls
The procedures for internal controls are subject to legislation.This section contains Governance, risk, and compliance & system controls and security measures.
15% Technology and Analytics
It deals with high level topics like how to use information systems, how to manage data, and how to automate financial tasks. The topics include Information systems, Date governance, Technology-Enabled Finance Transformation & Data Analysis.
